What Is RSS?
So what is RSS all about?
RSS is like an inbox for the web. Now, to most people that
doesn't immediately make too much sense.
It's best described with a practical example. You've found a
great little site, or blog, that you really like. It's relevant to you, and you
find it really useful. How do you know when something is added to it that you
want to know about? Easy right? You just have to check back every day and see
if anything has been added?
Well ok, but you're a very busy person, what if you don't
have time, or are away for a day or two. You could miss out.
Not anymore. More and more sites publish an RSS feed
containing data about new additions to their site content. In this way you can
use a RSS feed reader such as RSSReaderLive to monitor all the stuff you are
interested in without having to manually check all the sites every day.
Its not just News sites that publish RSS feeds either, RSS
is catching on, Blogs, Forums and even Auction Sites such as Ebay are
publishing RSS as a way to keep users informed.
RSSReaderLive can watch RSS Feeds for new items containing
your search criteria and also mail you new matching items to your email as they
appear.
